Muriel and I met about six years ago when I took up Bridge in my retirement. She was always so kind and helpful and encouraging. Then I found out she liked her cocktail (same one I liked, a Manhattan) and enjoyed wine pairing dinners. We had gobs in common and totally enjoyed each other’s company. Always plenty to talk about and experiences to share with each other. She also liked jewelry, another favorite of mine. We were supposed to have dinner at Tango a little bit back, and I called up to find out what time and was told she was sick. I was shocked. I had no idea how sick. In looking back I’m so sorry we didn’t get to share more time together. Such a smart, savvy, interesting woman…and on top of all that, just plain fun. I’ll miss her.
